PURPOSE: To produce an ink jet recording medium having high surface uniformity and imparting recording high in gloss, transparency, optical density and image quality. CONSTITUTION: A raw material soln. 2 containing alumina hydrate pressurized to 5-1500kgf/cm<2> is allowed to collide with a fixed wall 1a to prepare an alumina hydrate dispersion which is, in turn, applied to the surface of a sheet-like support and dried to form an ink receiving layer on the surface of the support. |
