PURPOSE: To industrially advantageously regenerate a catalyst for producing bisphenol A deteriorated in activity. CONSTITUTION: In the regeneration of a catalyst for producing bisphenol A deteriorated in activity composed of a modified resin containing both of a modified sulfonate type cation exchange group modified by a sulfur-containing amino compd. and an unmodified sulfonate type cation exchange group, a phenol soln. containing a sulfur-containing amine compd. is brought into contact with the catalyst.
