POWER HEAD ASSEMBLY FOR ELECTRIC MOWER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balanced power head assembly provided with a replaceable battery usable for a long time without generating the large amount of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: This power head assembly 12 for a cordless type electric mower is provided with a detachable upper housing 22 including two spaced batteries and a lower housing 24 attached to the deck of the mower. The upper housing 22 is provided with a handle and at least one quick disconnect terminal corresponding to the quick disconnect terminal attached to the lower housing 24. The lower housing is provided with an electric motor to be arranged between the two batteries when the upper housing is installed at a fixed position. A part of the electric motor is positioned below the deck so as to further reduce the height of a device. The lower housing is attached to the deck by several bolts, and since the bolts are arranged to be in the same attaching pattern used to attach the engine of gasoline driving power to the deck, the same deck is used for both of the cordless type electric mower and a gasoline-powered mower.
