An adjustable seat (10) of a vehicle such as an aircraft comprises a fixed baseplate (12), the top plate (16) of which is mounted on two lower components (26,28) by two hinged joints (36,42). These hinged joints define two pins (34,40) oriented parallel to the plane of the top plate (16), in the vehicle's transverse and longitudinal directions respectively. Moreover, one of these hinged joints (36) is placed at the apex of a triangle, the opposite side of which is coincident with the pin (40) of the other hinged joint (42). The integrity of the bed (14) of the seat is thereby preserved in the event of twisting of the floor. |
