PURPOSE: To make connection delay smaller while reducing select shock. CONSTITUTION: When a neutral range is changed to a running range, connection of a friction element for start 11 is performed by oil pressure from a manual valve 10 so as to be able to run. At this time, the oil pressure is controlled by an accumulator 100 so as to reduce select shock, but a back pressure of back pressure chambers 112, 114 are raised during the period from changeover of range to beginning of connection of the friction element for start 11. Accompanying this rise, a stepped piston 104 is stroked so as to precharge the fixed oil quantity in an accumulator 116 to the friction element for start 11. |
