<p>PURPOSE: To prevent double feeding of stacked sheets and to smoothly perform reverse carrying of sheets. CONSTITUTION: Sheets 3 on a sheet loading means 529 are given a feeding force by a feeding means, each sheet is separated from the other sheets by a carrying means and a friction separating means 560 and carried in the specified direction. On the other hand, the tip parts of the sheets 3' not directly given a feeding force by the feeding means or the carrying means are brought by pressure into contact with the friction separating means 560 by a sheet pressing means 540 and receives a large friction resistance from the friction separating means 560. Thus, the sheets 3' are not carried together with the sheet 3 even when these receive the influence of a friction force, static electricity or the like generated between the these and the carried sheet 3. Also, when the sheet 3 is carried in a reverse direction, since the sheet pressing means 540 moves away from the sheet 3, the sheet 3 is smoothly carried in the reverse direction without the interference of the sheet pressing means 540.</p> |
