DEVICE FOR CONTROL OF AERODYNAMIC DRAG OF HYPERSONIC FLYING VEHICLES

FIELD: rocketry and space engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has nose portion 1 and aerodynamic needle 2 made in form of thin cylindrical rod with taper end-piece. Multi-layer aerodynamic needle 2 is made of materials possessing different thermal physical characteristics; rod of needle 2 smoothly changes to rod taper with spherical blunting. Such construction of needle and rod makes it possible to ensure smoothness of thermal failure (burning) of front portion of needle and reduce pulsations of flow on surface of front portion. EFFECT: smoothness of thermal failure at simultaneous reduction of flow pulsations.
