FIELD: electric engineering and metallurgy, particular, methods of treatment of liquid metals and alloys; applicable in foundry and metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of electromagnetic treatment of liquid metal consists in exposure of liquid metal flow to periodic pulses of magnetic field directed along the flow axis. Duration of pulses of magnetic field is decreased in direction of metal flow that allows improvement of mechanical properties, for instance, aluminum alloys by ecologically clean methods. EFFECT: higher efficiency. |
