NEW BRANCHED CYCLODEXTRIN AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain the subject new compound useful for medicine field and having a specific structure by utilizing sugar transfer action of an enzyme. CONSTITUTION: This compound is a compound binding N-acetylglycosaminyl group or glucosaminyl-glycosyl-α-cyclodextrin to hydroxyl group of branched side chain of branched cyclodextrin byβbond, e.g. N-acetylglucominyl- glycosyl-α-cyclodextrin expressed by the formula. Furthermore, the compound is obtained by reacting a solution containing branched cyclodextrin and N- acetylchitooligosaccharide (preferably either one of N-acetylchitobiose, N- acetylchitotriose, N-acetylchitotetraose, phenyl-β-N-acetylglucosamine and para- nitrophenyl-β-N-acetylglucosamine) with N-acetylglucosaminyl group transferase (e.g. lysozyme) at pH4-8 and 40-60 deg.C for 10-50hr and as necessary carrying out deacetylation of the resultant compound.
