The present invention provides a movable rolling storage system that maintains extremely tight tolerances and quality control, yet it can be manufactured at low cost with very short delivery times. The storage system is shipped from the factory to the installation site in containers with the various required factory fabricated sub-assemblies, of such volumes and weights, that the shipping cost is most economical and the containers are readily moveable through standard office building door openings by site installation personnel. The sub assemblies are assembled at site by non skilled personnel, using only a few simple tools, to form a rigid frame that holds the rails at its precise parallel design distance. The only measurement necessary is the initial non critical tolerance distance from the wall. The invention provides a track/rail frame with frequent levelling screws, that can be adjusted under full load, on both sides of the track/rail such that both height and camber can be set. The movable carriages are also assembled by non skilled personnel into a rigid frame to which the shelves or racks are attached. The wheels of the movable carriage are suspended such that they will self align to the rails, making installation and future alignment maintenance unnecessary. The invention includes safety features such as anti tip preventers under each wheel and a locking device to prevent accidental movement of the mobile carriages while personnel are in the access aisle.
