The prosthesis has a femoral section (1) a tibial section (2) a sled (3) and a roller (6). the shape of the contact area between the femoral section and the rest of the prosthesis is a spiral with a variable radius and having a horizontal axis. The contact area can be formed by rectilinear sections which are aligned but separated by an arc of a circle forming a concavity or convexity w.r.t. the femoral section. The tibial part (2) receives a shock absorbing material (5) containing the slide surface of the sled. The intermediate flattened area formed with the tibial section has a labyrinth seal.
