Display data line transmission system

The system involves transferring data to a number of displays, esp. in product storage, where products are manually packed in response to the displayed information (pick-to-light). The system comprises a display controller, and lines for the transmission of supply power and data to the displays. The display controller is configured to transmit the data in a time multiplexed scheme. The data are pref. transmitted serially, esp. in synchronic modus, and shift registers are therefore used, with a latch register located between each shift register and the associated display. The multiplex frequency is pref. at least 20 Hz, and the display brightness may be controlled by varying the pulse duration.
