An inhibitor for lipid peroxide increase which comprises fructoligosaccharides whereby a food or drink having an excellent effect of inhibiting an increase in lipid peroxides without largely changing the daily diets can be provided at a low cost. Intake of the inhibitor can provide an excellent means for preventing various diseases caused by the formation of lipid peroxides (cancer, arteriosclerosis, etc.), retarding the aging process, etc.
