A voltage-to-current converter circuit includes an isolation amplifier (54) having an optocoupler (28) that generates electromagnetic energy representative of an input voltage, and includes a first and a second phototransistor (Q1, Q2) each configured to operate in a photovoltaic mode for generating a photovoltage in response to the incident electromagnetic energy. The photovoltage from the first phototransistor is used by a feedback network to linearize the generation of electromagnetic energy by the optocoupler. The photovoltage from the second phototransistor, which is electrically isolated from the input voltage, is used by an output circuit (52) to recover the input voltage. A conversion circuit receives the recovered input voltage and generates an output current as a function of and representative of the input voltage.
|
