In the spindle assembly for a spinning or twisting machine, the ring disc (24) rests additionally on a circular ring surface (30) on the normal plane to the axis (12) of the spindle (1). It is set by a guide surface (29) of the spindle bearing housing (10). Pref. the ring disc (24) is supported at the circular ring surface (30) through an intermediate elastomer disc (31). The circular ring surface (30) is at the cover (22) of the spindle bearing housing (10). Two elastomer rings (26, 27) give an axial and a radial support to the ring disc (24), and the two rings can have different dias. The rings (267, 27) are O-rings. Alternatively, a single elastomer ring can be fitted with an L-shaped cross section. The rings (2, 27) are held in guides (28), which allow elastic distortion across the loading force line.
