A filter assembly removes substances which trigger allergies from air such as Derp 1, Derf 1, Feld 1, Alt I or Aspf I. The novelty is that the last stage of the filter is a solid which has been soaked in a buffer solution containing mono- or polyclonal antibodies. The last-stage solid filter layer is fabricated using EU4, EU5, EU5 or EU7, which is preceded by a chemical absorption filter layer incorporating either a strong alkaline layer and/or a strongly acidic layer. The acidic and alkaline layers alternate with each other.
