<p>A gasket (14) comprising a compression-limiting stop (15) is manufactured by bending an edge portion (10a) of a metal sheet (10) of substantially uniform thickness out of the plane of the sheet and pressing said bent edge portion so that it is formed into the stop (15) which is of greater thickness than the sheet.
