Before driving the water into feedline (2) the water charge is stored in a spring storage (4) with the ram valve (3) closed. The valve is opened and closed by hydrostatic pressure differences using bellows (5), piston or membrane whose active surface in each case is exposed to the pressure of the charge water against the far side which is loaded by a spring (6) used to close the ram valve (3). The valve and the bellows are so arranged that the operative side of the bellows on the water side is reduced by the valve section only when the valve is closed. The water storage spring is in the immediate proximity of the valve. Water is charged to the storage (4) along line (1) from outside until pressure is sufficient to close off the valve (3). The valve is kept closed until the force on the bellows (5) exceeds the force of the spring whereupon the bellows expands so as to force the water column through the valve and into the feedline (2).
