The clamping device allows an additional cable (3) to be clamped to the pylon subsequent to the installation of the overhead HV lines and has clamp elements positioned diagonally relative to a pylon edge profile, so that the cable is clamped to the latter. The centre of the clamping device has a suspension device for receiving fixing arrangement for the additional cable. Each clamp element has a threaded spindle and a pair of cooperating clamp plates, with the clamping surfaces of the latter matched to the profile of the pylon edge profile.
