Method for gluing endless bands, e.g. to make cardboard tubes

The method involves weaving continuous bands of paper (8, 9, 10) onto a spindle (20) into a helix forming a cardboard tube (21). The bands come off individual rotating spindles and are fed through an adhesive applicator (1, 2, 3) and formed into the tube. In each applicator, the bands have a uniform glue layer selectively applied to one side by a roller (17, 18, 19). This roller has glue over a prefixed peripheral angle. A parallel feed roller (14, 15, 16) delivers glue from a trough (11, 12, 13) to the this roller.
