ANTIFOULING PAINT COMPOSITION, COATING FILM MADE FROM THE COMPOSITION, ANTIFOULING METHOD USING THE COMPOSITION, AND HULLS OR SUBMARINE STRUCTURES COVERED WITH THE COATING FILM

An antifouling paint composition comprising (A) an antifouling agent, (B) a film-forming copolymer comprising units derived from a trialkylsilyl ester of polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid in an amount of 20 to 65 wt.% and having a number-average molecular weight of 1000 to 50000, and (C) chlorinated paraffin. In a preferable embodiment of the composition, the component (C) is contained in an amount of 8 to 65 pts. by wt. per 100 pts. by wt. of the component (B). It is preferable that the composition further contains (D) a (meth)acrylate ester polymer being compatible with the component (B) and having a number-average molecular weight of 1000 to 100000, (E) an inorganic dehydrating agent, (F) a flaky pigment, (G) zinc oxide and so on. This composition is useful for coating hulls or submarine structures and can form a coating film excellent in crack resistance, peeling resistance and so on.
