FLOOR CLEANING APPARATUS

The present invention provides an apparatus for cleaning floors. The apparatus is a sweeper with a cylindrical side broom (140) with an overlying hood (538). A contouring side broom assembly (600) is provided for following contours of a surface. The apparatus is a sweeper that utilizes a pre-filter (362) to remove debris that remains in the vacuum airstream after having passed through the hopper. The apparatus is a scrubber with two counter rotating disk brushes (434, 436), a primary squeegee (422), and a second or pre-squeegee (442) for relieving the primary squeegee from processing the heavier concentration of waste water produced in the area between the brushes.
