Biodegradable polymer mixt. (A) comprises at least one biopolymer component (I) based on natural raw material; and a polymer (II). (II) is an aromatic polyester, a polyester copolymer with aliphatic and aromatic blocks, a polyester amide a polyethylene oxide polymer or a polyglycol, and/or a polyester urethane. Also claimed is a process for prodn. of (A) by mixing starch, esp. thermoplastic starch, with (II) as a melt. The water content is reduced to < 1.0 wt.% of the mixt. before and/or during the mixing.
