PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical battery which can increase a rate of a space to house a reactive anode substance. SOLUTION: A nonreactive element of a battery 10 is thinner than a corresponding nonreactive element of a conventional battery. This element can be thinned by improving a structure of these elements. An anode vessel 24 is formed of a metallic strip structure having the high steel content. A cathode vessel 44 has a changed temper to improve relative rigidity while maintaining sufficient ductility. A seal 60 between the anode vessel and the cathode vessel is thinned. A structure of a corner part of the cathode vessel between a bottom part 46 and a side wall 47 is improved. A thickness of the nonreactive element of the battery is reduced, and therefore a volume rate of the battery to hold an electrochemical reactive anode substance increases by reducing the volume occupied by the nonreactive element, and energy capacity of the battery increases according to this. |
