The waveform segments to be read are randomly specified by a reading sequence control means 6 among the waveform segment group that consists of prescribed number of waveform segments, successively switched and the group, which is the subject for a random specification, is changed in accordance with the time progress made during a musical sound generation. In a different reading sequence control means 31, a sequence memory 22, which beforehand stores plural kinds of switching orders for the waveform segments to be read, is included. For every generation of a musical sound, one switching order is selected and specified among the plural kinds of switching orders. The waveform segments to be read from a waveform memory are successively switched and specified based on the selected and specified switching order. |
