PURPOSE: To provide a silence compression sound encoding device improving tone quality on acoustic feeling of a decoded sound. CONSTITUTION: A transmission side is provided with a sound encoder 101, a sound detector 102, a hangover time controller 103 adjusting the time of a sound section and a switch 104 sending only the encoding data of the sound section to a line 15, and a reception side is provided with a sound decoder 201, a noise generator 202, an amplifier 207 controlling the output level of the noise generator, a selector 208 selectively outputting either one side output between the sound decoder and the noise generator, a silence/sound data detector 203 detecting the presence of the line data, a gain controller 206 calculating the gain of the amplifier, a level calculator 204 calculating the signal level of the reproducing sound of the sound decoder and a memory 205 storing the past level values calculated by the level calculator. |
