The cover strip (10) is arranged on the external longitudinal column (4) of a grid system. The cover strip has a recess (12) which extends from the outer surface of the strip to mid-way across the cross-sectional area of the strip. The recess extends along the whole length of the strip. The recess width is uniform across the length of the strip and the width is generally equal to the width of the grid bars. There is a fastener (26) in the strip which extends along the strips whole length.
