PURPOSE: To obtain a power conversion apparatus in which an AC voltage is applied to a load circuit by using a switched capacitor. CONSTITUTION: Capacitors C11 , C12 to C51 , C52 are connected in series while two each are formed as a set, and respective series circuits are connected in parallel to each other so as to be connected across output ends of a DC power supply E. The capacitance ratio of the capacitors C11 , C12 to C51 , C52 is set in such a way that potentials at connecting points of the capacitors C11 , C12 to C51 , C52 two each of which form the set are different from each other. A series circuit composed of two switching elements SW6 , SW7 is connected across the output ends of the DC power supply E. A load circuit 1 is connected, via respective switching elements SW1 to SW5 , across the connecting points of the series-connected capacitors C11 , C12 to C51 , C52 and connecting points of the switching elements SW6 , SW7 . Consequently, when the switching elements SW6 , SW7 are turned on and off alternately and the switching elements SW1 to SW5 are turned on sequentially and alternately, an AC voltage can be applied to the load circuit 1. |
