PURPOSE: To provide the communication data for image data with which omitted image data are interpolated and an image close to a transmitted source image can be exactly restored on the reception side. CONSTITUTION: Concerning the communication method for image data with which the image data are transmitted through a low-quality transmission line accompanying data omission or transmission error, first of all, prescribed processing is performed to the image data to be transmitted by an information source encoder 11 and an error correction encoder 12 on the transmission side and the image data, to which the processing is performed, are transmitted while being separated for each image component of an R component, G component and B component by a divided modulator 13. On the other hand, on the reception side, the image data received through a transmission line 14 are received by a divided demodulator 15, image data are decoded by performing prescribed decoding processing through an error correction decoder 16 or an information source decoder 17, afterwards, the image data of a section, which can not be received because of data omission or transmission error, are estimated/ interpolated from the separately transmitted image data of the other different image component, and the image having no feeling of incompatibility is provided by decreasing the data omission or transmission error. |
