PURPOSE: To obtain a high-quality optical switch with which the occurrence of connection loss is effectively suppressed by providing the inside of a switch chamber with an attraction means in the state of hermetically closing this switch chamber, thereby preventing the adhesion of dust to the matching material at the connecting end faces of optical fibers. CONSTITUTION: This optical switch is a changeover switch constituting of, for example, plane angular type connectors of an MT type of, for example, 1×N type (N is an integer). The switch chamber 1A of a device body 1 is provided with the attraction means 2 for attracting fine powder and other dust suspended in the switch chamber 1A. The attraction means 2 is installed over the entire surface on the floor surface side of the switch chamber 1A by taking the easy tendency of the fine powder predicted to be generated much by the mechanical wear, etc., in particularly among the fine powder and dust generated by various kinds of causes and various kinds of the other dust to gravity fall downward by its own weight as such fine powder is heavy in weight. Suitable attraction agents are used for this means. As a result, the fine powder suspended in the switch chamber 1A is forcibly attracted and removed and the clean environment in the switch chamber is obtd. |
