PURPOSE: To lighten the load of conversion matrix generation on a CPU by generating a transformation matrix used for coordinate transformation by a geometric processing part in a display device. CONSTITUTION: The transformation matrix generated by the geometric processing part 3 is arithmetic-processed as specified by a command of the CPU 1 together with vertex coordinates of three-dimensional graphic data. The coordinate-transformed data have a polygon, defined with vertex coordinates, converted to the form of a set of pixels by a rasterizer part 6. The rasterizer part 6 after deciding and generating pixels inside the polygon finds Z values, lightness (color), and texture coordinates by interpolation as to the respective pixels and outputs them to a pixel engine part 7. The pixel engine part 7 writes data from a memory 8 in the frame buffer 10 and Z buffer 11 under the control of a memory control part 9 according to the pixel data. Then, the image data are sent out to a screen 13 to obtain a specific image. |
