摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operating efficiency of a frequency-multiplying means by providing within the cavity at least one element consisting of a second non- linear material, which can be multiplied arbitrary integral number of the fundamental frequency of the micro-laser cavity. SOLUTION: Other two elements are provided within a cavity. Namely, these are a cavity-switching element 44 and a non-linear material 46. The cavity switching element 44 is in a active mode or a passive mode, and the non-linear material 46 can multiply the fundamental frequency of an active laser medium 38 by as many as a factor n (n>=2). The non-linear material 46 may be a non- linear KTP crystal, and can double the fundamental frequency of micro-laser. Since the switching means 44 and a means 46 for multiplying the fundamental frequency may exist in the cavity at the same time operating efficiency of the frequency-multiplying means can be improved.
