PURPOSE: To obtain an optical recording medium which realizes a low consumption of electric power, fast recording and a low cost. CONSTITUTION: This medium has such a structure that an intermediate layer 13 is sandwiched between an upper multilayered reflecting film 11 and a lower multilayered reflecting film 14 and that a recording film 12 is inserted into the intermediate part of the intermediate layer 13. The upper multilayered reflecting film 11 and the lower multilayered reflecting film 14 are alternately multilayered film (SiO2 /TiO2 ) of SiO2 and TiO2 layers each having thickness the same as 1/4 wavelength of the recording light from TiO2 as the first layer and also TiO2 as at last layer. The upper multilayered reflecting film 11 has two and half pairs while the lower multilayered reflecting film 14 has three and half pairs. The intermediate layer 13 consists of SiO2 and its thickness is almost 1/2 times of the wavelength of the recording light. The upper multilayered reflecting film 11 and the lower multilayered reflecting film 14 constitute a resonator and the recording film 12 is disposed at the loop of standing waves in this resonator. |
