PURPOSE: To form a fine pattern having excellent heat resistance in a smaller number of processes by forming an electrodeposition coating film containing a pigment and a specified hardening compd. as an essential component which constitutes a color layer formed on a conductive transparent thin film layer. CONSTITUTION: This color filter consists of a conductive transparent thin film layer formed on a substrate and a color layer comprising an electrodeposition coating film formed on the thin film layer. The electrodeposition film is a hardened compsn. containing as the essential component, a pigment and a compd. obtd. by the reaction of a silicon compd. having amino groups and a polycarboxylic acid anhydride, and/or its hydrolysate, and/or its hydrolyzed condensate. As for the silicon compd. having amino groups, organosilane obtd. by hydrolyzing alkoxysilane having amino groups, and/or its condensate can be used. The polycarboxylic acid anhydride is such a compd. that has plural acid anhydride components in the molecule, and for example, tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride is used. |
