PURPOSE: To provide a device which is compatible to cope with multimedia by providing a changeover mechanism for moving selectively supporting substrates for supporting plural objective lenses. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the objective lens 10 for a CD- ROM, the objective lens 13 for a DVD, the supporting substrate 15 for supporting these objective lenses and the changeover mechanism. The changeover mechanism is composed of a changeover slot 16 bored in a slide plate 12 and a pin 17 provided projectingly on the upper surface of a sliding block 11, etc., and the supporting substrate 15 is moved to make an optical axis of a laser beam selectively coincide with either of optical axes of the two objective lenses. Consequently, when optical axis of the specified objective lens 10 or 13 is not coincident with the optical axis of the laser beam, the supporting substrate 15 is moved by the changeover mechanism to make the optical axis of the specified objective lens and the optical axis of the laser beam coincident with each other. Thus, the laser beam is passed through the objective lens, and the laser beam is converged on the disk of a prescribed kind, thereby performing recording or reproducing. |
