<p>1,273,064. Static converters. BROWN BOVERI & CO. Ltd. 7 Aug., 1969 [9 Aug., 1968], No. 39545/69. Heading H2F. Two A.C. systems A, B of different frequency are interconnected by a D.C. link including a static rectifier and static inverter and irrespective of the direction of power flow between the systems, it is arranged that, by selectively operating switches so that switches S A-B S<SP>1</SP> A-B are closed and switches S B-A , S<SP>1</SP> B-A are open or vice versa, current will flow through the link in the same direction. Thus, one converter R1 will always be used as a rectifier -and therefore may employ uncontrolled semi-conductor diodes. The other converter R2 will always operate as an inverter, e.g. using thyristors and its operating frequency will be that of the system it is feeding into. Harmonic filter circuits FK are provided The -two systems must be of the same voltage or alternatively may be matched using a transformer.</p> |
