PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a light diffusion layer with which a sufficient light diffusion effect is obtainable, the control of the diffusion rate of transmitted light is easy and production is easy and production of this device. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device consists of a liquid crystal panel 1 of a transmission type, a light diffusing means 10 and a directional back light 3. The liquid crystal panel 1 is arranged with the light diffusing means 10 on the front surface side of a pair of the glass substrates 4 and the light diffusing means 10 is divided to a first resin layer 11B and second resin layer 12 dispersed with fine particles 8a. Since the refractive indices of the first resin layer 11B and the fine particles 8a are approximately matched, there is no lens effect between the fine particles and even if the fine particles 8a are laminated, the same effect as the effect obtd. when the fine particles are aligned in one layer is eventually obtd. The production is thus facilitated while the effect of improving the visual field angle of the light diffusing means is maintained. |
