PURPOSE: To suppress influences of heat produced by irradiation of a recording layer with reproducing light or recording light, and thereby, to increase the recording density and to improve the recording efficiency and erasing performance. CONSTITUTION: A heat insulating layer 4 is formed between a recording layer 2 in which the recorded information is reproduced by irradiation with reproducing light 8 and a reverse photochromic masking layer 2. The reverse photochromic masking layer 2 shows absorption at the wavelength of the reproducing light 8, causes photochemical reaction by absorption of the reproducing light 8 to decrease absorption but increases absorption by thermal reaction. |
