<p>PURPOSE: To compress an object to be compressed with a high efficiency even when the user has no intelligence as to which coding method is advantageous for compressing the object. CONSTITUTION: A file identification section 2 identifies an image file/non image file from uncoded data 1. A changeover section 3 provides the uncoded data l to any of coding sections 4, 5, 6 according to the identification result. A post- processing section 7 provides a file type identifier to the coded data file and provides an output of the resulting file to a coded data storage section 8.</p> |
