PURPOSE: To improve the retrieval efficiency at the time of retrieving computer operation data on a saving destination storage medium and to improve convenience in terms of operations. CONSTITUTION: A retrieval object saving destination area is specified based on an operation data map 3 for holding the correspondence relation of the operation time band of a computer and a saving destination area on the saving destination storage medium in which the computer operation data are saved, a computer operation data group stored in the retrieval object saving destination area is extracted from the saving destination storage medium 2 and the computer operation data matching with retrieval parameters such as JOB name, message ID and character retrieval string, etc., specified beforehand are selected from the computer operation data group and displayed. Retrieval result data relating to the selection are stored in an external storage device 8 corresponding to the instruction of a user and printed. At the time of displaying the operation data map 3 on a screen, the input operation of a specified key determined beforehand is performed. |
