PURPOSE: To provide an optical connector, such as optical switch, which is miniaturized. CONSTITUTION: This optical connector consists of plural connector port arrays 3 arranged in at least two stages, plural connecting head parts 2 disposed freely movably with respect to these connector port arrays 3 and ferrules 2a which are arranged in at least two stages in the connecting head parts 2 and are connected to the connector ports 3a of the connector port arrays 3. The connector port arrays 3 and the ferrules 2a corresponding thereto are arranged in at least the two-stage structure and, therefore, the arranging transverse width of the connector port arrays 3 and the connecting head parts 2 is reduced by at least half and the optical connector drastically reduced in size with respect to the same number of coated fibers of optical fibers is obtd. |
