A method for securing and mounting a flush-type electrical device (1) containing an electric switch (2), and a device installed using this method. The method includes the steps of: providing a wall cavity (12) where the switch (2) is to be inserted, sealing an encasing box (3) where the electrical wiring (14) terminates, connecting the wiring (14) with the switch (2), mounting the switch (2) opposite the encasing box (3) by means of a mounting plate (4) placed against a wall (10) and attaching a decorative cover (5) to the mounting plate (4) so as to completely cover the plate, the decorative cover (5) adapting perfectly to the outer surface of a wall (10) to which it is fixed. The invention is useful in electrical applications relating to switches, electric sockets and the like.
