PURPOSE: To obtain an MR head having extremely good sensitivity with a small bias magnetic field and a high reproducing output and to obtain a production method to easily produce this MR head. CONSTITUTION: A multilayered film element 1 is formed in such a manner that the axis of easy magnetization (shown as an arrow N) makes an angleθbetween 45 deg. and 90 deg. in the direction of external signal magnetic field shown as an arrow M, which is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the multilayered element 1.
