PURPOSE: To obtain an inverter starting method in which a rush current at the start of a single-phase square-wave inverter provided with a transformer on the output side is suppressed without setting the maximum magnetic flux of the transformer to be excessive. CONSTITUTION: The output voltage phase of a first starting phase P1 at the instant of a start is set at β=0 deg. of the voltage peak point of its fundamental waveform. On and after the 2nd starting pulses P2 , P3 ,... are set to rated pulse widths and rates amplitudes, and an inverter is started. The pulse width and the Vt product of the first starting pulse P1 which rises at β=0 deg. are set to half their rated values, and the increase amount of the magnetic flux ϕ of a transformer is halved when the first starting pulse P1 is applied to the transformer on the output side of the inverter. Thereby, the magnetic flux ϕ of the transformer at the instant of the start does not exceed its maximum magnetic flux ϕ2 , and it is possible to suppress the generation of a rush current due to the saturation of the magnetic flux of the transformer. |
