PURPOSE: To provide an operation method of a fuel cell power generation device which can be stably used over a long period of time by preventing the occurrence of damage by holding cell output voltage in a prescribed value or less. CONSTITUTION: Nitrogen gas supply piping having a nitrogen gas flow regulating valve 7 is connected to reaction air supply piping to an air electrode of a fuel cell main body 1. In a power generating operation, an output voltage signal of a voltmeter 8 to detect output voltage of the fuel cell main body 1 is sent to a control device 9, and it is compared with reference voltage by the control device 9. When it is not less than a prescribed value, a control signal to put a valve in an opening state is sent to the nitrogen gas flow regulating valve 7, and nitrogen gas is mixed in reaction air, and it is supplied to the air electrode after the oxygen concentration is reduced, and cell output voltage is held in a prescribed value or less. |
