PURPOSE: To prevent a conversion candidate which is unnatural in terms of meaning from being extracted and to obtain a precise conversion result by rewriting a word into the word of a category except for a category which cannot be rewritten. CONSTITUTION: The rule retrieval program 36 of ROM 30 executes a retrieval processing which is to retrieve whether a rule having the combination of word patterns matched with the combination of the words of a conversion result storage area 22 exists or not in a rule dictionary 56. When the obtained rule exists in the rule dictionary 56, the rule rewrite program 38 of ROM 30 rewrites the part of the combination of the words, which match with the combination of the word patterns of the rule, among the words in the conversion result storage area 22 according to rewrite information of the rule. Furthermore, the exception category rewrite program 40 of ROM 30 rewrites the word into the word having the same sound as the word and having the meaning code which is not equivalent to the exception category in accordance with an exception category item in the rule. |
