PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution of an optical filter capable of selecting light signals of arbitrary plural wavelengths from light signals of plural wavelengths and to necessitate the smaller electric power consumption. CONSTITUTION: This optical filter is driven in the following manner: The light signals progress in order of light signal input sections 1, 2, a polarized light separating section 3, a non-reversible polarization plane rotating body 4, an optical diffractor 5, an optical space modulator array 6, a light reflection section 7, the optical space modulator array 6, the optical diffractor 5, the polarization plane rotating body 4 and the polarized light separating section 3.
