PURPOSE: To obtain proper image formation conditions by outputting the same test solid patch image a number of times while changing the speed of a developer carrier, thereby coping with any environmental change. CONSTITUTION: In image adjustment mode, a control part 31 successively reads image data for patches in separate colors from a memory 34, and outputs the data to an image exposure means 13. Exposure in a reference quantity of light is carried out on a photoreceptive drum 10, and an electrostatic latent image is developed by a developing unit 14. In patch detection, while decreasing the peripheral speed of a developing sleeve 141 in relation to the photoreceptive drum 10 into three steps, the control part 31 outputs the same test solid patches separately, and inputs detection signals from a detection sensor 33. Then, by estimating a relationship between a peripheral-speed ratio and an amount of attached toner, the peripheral-speed ratio in digital image formation is set. |
