PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the initial small droplet effect at the time of suction by a method principally comprising steps for supplying sufficient quantity of air from a chip to a liquid, sucking a specified quantity of air into the chip, discharging more air than the sucked air, and sucking a preselected quantity of liquid in the following distribution. SOLUTION: In the method for avoiding initial small droplet effect, the air is fed sufficiently at first from a chip to a liquid in order to form a bubble being separated from the chip. The chip is then lifted from a pool such that all bubbles are separated from the chip. At least 8μL of air is then sucked at least twice to the chip and more air is discharged therefrom to leave only a trace of liquid in the chip. Subsequently, a pump is regulated and the chip is back to the pool and immersed in the liquid. Sufficient quantity of liquid for purging the trace liquid is then sucked from the pool to the chip and returned back to the pool before being distributed. Finally, a preselected quantity of liquid sucked for next distribution. |
