Burner for gaseous, liquid, or powdered fuel

The burner has a central fuel lance (1), and contains an air feed (2) with an optional swirler (3), ignition electrodes (4) and facility for flue gas supply (5). The flame is stabilised by a flame tube (6), and a combustion chamber insert (7) provides the return feed of the hot flue gases. Preferably the flue gas feed is carried out via an annular gap in the flame tube. The size of the flue gas fed aperture may be adjusted by a slider on a plate, even during the burner operation, to match optimal combustion. This is typically achieved automatically by temperature sensors or bimetallic strips.
